Super73 App Hack
Since the torque update announcement, you’ve been scouring the internet for some clarity. “Should I update my bike? Do I want more torque knowing that it reverts back to Mode 2? Is my bike eligible?” etc. The team has the following blog — https://super73.com/super73-app-updates — available with some of your questions answered.
But if you’re looking for an easy way to access your Super73 app quicker. You came to the right place. I’ve been using this very small and effective product that can eliminate some steps. A hack if you will.
It’s called an NFC tag. Near-field communication (NFC) allows two devices to communicate wirelessly within a very short distance. Contactless payments are used from ticketing to airlines and your local coffee shop. This same technology can programed to automatically open your Super73 app just by tapping the NFC tag.
First, make sure you have an iPhone XS or later running the latest update. Open the Shortcuts app and tap the Automations tab at the bottom. Tap the + sign and select Create Personal Automation. Scroll down and select NFC (ex. “When I tap an NFC tag”). Tap Scan and hold the NFC tag near the top of your phone. Select Next > Add Action then choose Apps. You’ll then search for “Super73” and select it to be opened. Then select Next and you’re all good. There are options to Ask Before Running and Notify When Run that you can toggle on or off.
As for the NFC tags, I picked up a 10-pack of NFC tag stickers from Amazon that ran me $14.99. I placed my tag on the top of the battery so I’m able to just tap it and the Super73 app will run automatically. Here is where you’ll be able to select Vehicle and then Mode. With the latest torque update, it will eliminate an extra step and take you right to the app to change your mode to your liking.
As always, ride safe and have fun!
